Overview
VideoOnRepeat (https://videoonrepeat.com) is a free browser-based tool for looping videos. We respect your privacy and collect as little data as possible.
What we collect
We do not require an account. Videos play through third-party embed players (such as YouTube and Vimeo). We do not download, host, or store the videos you watch.
Your queue, favorites, and loop settings are saved locally in your browser using local storage on your device. This data is not sent to our servers.
We may use analytics services (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site. These services may collect anonymized usage data such as pages visited, browser type, and general location.
YouTube API Services
VideoOnRepeat uses YouTube API Services. Search results are retrieved through the YouTube Data API, and videos play through the YouTube IFrame Player API.
By using the YouTube features on this site you are also agreeing to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. How Google handles data collected through these services is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
We never ask you to sign in and we do not request access to your Google or YouTube account, so we hold no YouTube account data about you. To review or revoke access that you have granted to any application, use your Google security settings.
What we store and how long we keep it
There are no accounts and no user database, so we hold no profile about you. Concretely:
- On your device. Your queue, playlists, saved loop sections, favorites, watch history, and playback preferences are written to your browser's local storage. They stay until you remove them, and we set no expiry.
- Search requests. Text you type into the search box is sent to our server, which forwards it to the YouTube Data API. Responses are cached by query so we make fewer API calls. They are not tied to you or to any identifier.
- Error logs. If a search request fails, the query text and the error reason are written to our server logs so the problem can be diagnosed. Our hosting provider keeps these logs for a limited period and then deletes them.
- Analytics. Aggregated usage data is retained by Google Analytics under Google's own retention settings.
Cached search responses expire within a day and are discarded entirely within a week, well inside the maximum retention period allowed by the YouTube API Services Terms.
To delete everything connected to your use of this site, clear your queue and history inside the app, or clear site data for https://videoonrepeat.com in your browser settings. That removes all of it, because none of it is stored on our servers. There is nothing further for us to delete on request.
Third-party services
When you play a YouTube or Vimeo video, those platforms may collect data according to their own privacy policies. We do not control third-party data collection.
We may display advertising in the future. Ad providers may use cookies or similar technologies subject to their own policies. We will update this page if that changes.
Cookies
The site may use cookies or local storage for analytics and to remember your preferences and queue on your device. You can clear site data through your browser settings at any time.
Children
VideoOnRepeat is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
